A well-known old TV series, this is my little fantasy about what might have happened and stayed behind the scenes:
Annie asked Molly to pull on her legs and hasten her death. Molly couldn't say no to her unhappy friend.

But I'd already guessed at 'The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders' from 1996, even before I saw your depiction of Alex Kingston's hair.
But Annie? Moll's friend was Lucy Diver, a name proudly proclaimed in her gallows speech by a young Nicola Walker, in one of her earliest roles.
She has gone on to become one of our much loved and admired actresses. And, coincidentally, killed off in many of her appearances, 'Spooks', 'River', 'Unforgotten'.
I recall reading an article when 'Moll' first aired. Nicola described how she had insisted on doing her own stunts, because she loved the hanging.
She said she so enjoyed thrashing about suspended in mid-air, she forgot she was supposed to be dying.

I also don't understnd why this problem occurred, I've tried several times, even change the size of picture, but it still didn't work.
Yes, 'The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders' from 1996, one of my alltime favorites. I know Molly and Annie waren't a real friends, but I thought that after they spend some time in prison and stand side by side noosed and ready to be hanged, before Molly's rescue, they can be called friends. Intersting fact about Nicola Walker, I didn't know that, thank's for telling.

Ah, now I understand. The other woman from the later prison scenes, I'd forgotten HER name. Sorry, my mistake.
