Going through internet archive which depicts a quick hanging, using translate it does appear that it is a woman hanged. As usual I can't capture the image but will provide the link.

This proved an interesting little exercise, so thank you for that.
I think I've covered the principal part of the story; and have passed the images through a translator for easier understanding.
